At the funeral of Police Officer Seara Burton, the Richmond Police Lieutenant Donnie Benedict announced that someone had walked into the police station and handed over a white envelope. This contained 8 crumbled $1 bills with a note that said “People from the street”. The homeless community wanted to donate to the family of the dead officer. In return, the community is rallying around the homeless as donations spiked after this act of generosity.
